Power of Words

Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. James 1:26

Words are powerful they can either bless or curse somebody’s future; I’m sure you still remember something somebody said negative to you maybe even many years ago

That’s why we need to learn to take control of our mouths and hold our peace even when we strongly disagree.
As it says in Proverbs 17:28 “Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues. Notice it says were thought wise when silent
We often believe in order for people to think were intelligent or insightful we need to always have a comment but sometimes just listening is more effective
But we can bless and inspire people with our words Proverbs 16:24 “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”
Hearing the words of praise and acceptance will be an absolute blessing to everyone; As it says in Provebs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

What if you strongly disagree with someone or there opinions? Remember to keep your peace Romans 14:1 “As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions.”

Your not going to accomplish anything by arguing or insulting people; holding your tongue will give you the power to maintain peace
I pray that we learn and understand the power of our words; and that we use our words to bless and encourage one another Amen

    Hi Unashamedofjesus,
I read a book not too long ago called Taming your Tongue in 30 days (something like that) It reads to your message here. It has taught me to take a moment before speaking. Also there are moments when you dont need to respond, just listen. Words are powerful, speak in truth.
