Who Is Jesus?

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:  Colossians 1:15

Who is Jesus? Seems like a simple question, but this topic has divided religions, families, and nations. In Colossians Paul gives a perfect description of who Jesus is. How does Paul know? Because he met Jesus face to face on the Road to Damascus.

First we learn Jesus is the image of God, The Word became Flesh and dwelt among us. Remember Jesus said he and God are one, this is the Trinity.  Nobody gets to God without going thru Jesus because Jesus is God in the Flesh.

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Colossians 1:16-17

We learn two more things from these scriptures.

  1. Jesus created The Heavens and The Earth
  2. Jesus is King of Kings and rules over all nations and governments

Notice this scripture says all things were created by him, this corresponds with John 1:1 “In the beginning was The Word, and the Word was with God and The Word was God “

Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He was here before everything and he will be here evermore. He is sitting on the throne and rules The Earth.

 

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; Colossians 1:18-19

Jesus is the head of the Church, there is no other man or authority above him.  If you’re not following his Word you’re following a false religion. If it’s not in The Bible it a man made doctrine or ritual

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. Colossians 1:20

Jesus came down to Earth, lowered himself to become an atonement sacrifice for our sins.  He loves us enough to leave his throne as King and become The Lamb of God.  There is no greater love than this.

Read these scriptures, meditate on these scriptures, this is who Jesus is. He is the same today, yesterday, and forever in Jesus Name Amen

The Truth Shall Set You Free

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32

This statement by Jesus is very powerful in many ways, it can be broken down in 3 parts:

Are you truly a Christian?  You can go to Church every Sunday but unless you actually know the Bible and are applying it to your life, your attendance means nothing. Jesus brought us these teachings for a reason, to save your life.

Jesus is the Word and the Word is truth-  The Word became Flesh. We know Jesus is the Word and we know the Word is Truth. Jesus is sinless and is not capable of lying. Trust in Jesus he is the truth.

We are all slaves to sin without Jesus- We all fall short and are sinners. Only by the blood of Jesus are we set free from the chains of sin.

They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?” Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. John 8:33-34

Many of us will look at our life and say I’m Free, I’m not a slave to anything. But if you analyze your life you will realize your probably a slave to many things. Were slaves to money, slaves to drugs, slaves to sex, slaves to power. Until we become transformed and stop conforming to the world, we will always be slaves to sin.

Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:35-36

We are all Children of God, we are made in his image. He loved us enough to sacrifice his only Son. Thru Jesus we are set free, we are slaves no more to Satan.

You are doing the works of your own father.” “We are not illegitimate children,” they protested. “The only Father we have is God himself.” Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. John 8:40-41

If you are a Child of God, then why are you doing the works of Satan? This is what Jesus questioned the Jews when they kept trying to kill him. The same goes for ourselves, if your going to be a Christian, then follow Jesus

Once you know Jesus then you know the truth and you are truly free from the sins of this world in Jesus name Amen

Coat of Many Colors

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he wasthe son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours. Genesis 37:3

Joseph had favor with his father and was giving a special gift, a Coat of many Colors, this gift made his brothers so jealous they plotted to kill him and eventually sold him into slavery.

We all have been given a gift from our Heavenly Father, maybe you have been blessed with a special talent or skill, or maybe you have been blessed with a family or prosperity. Whatever your “Coat of Many Colors” is it makes people around you jealous or maybe even your own family is now against you. Don’t lose heart God has a plan for you

Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content Genesis 37:27

Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery and eventually he ended up in prison, however God was always with Joseph and turned his tragedies into triumphs. By the grace of God , Joseph ended up being in charge even though he was a Hebrew slave.

Don’t let your current circumstances defeat you , just like Joseph God is with you and wont forsake you. He will make you enemies your footstool to your destiny

And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand Genesis 39:2-3

No matter what happened to Joseph God made him prosper, man tried to make him a slave and God made him a master, man then tried to make him a prisoner and God made him a ruler, Man can’t stop you from your divine destiny as long as you keep following God

And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. Genesis 45:4-5

Joseph had every right to hate his brothers, but he stayed in peace and forgave them. He knew the no weapon formed against him would prosper, whatever was meant for his harm God would use for his good.

Are you burdened today by your “Coat of Many Colors” the gift giving to you by God? Just remember if God is for us who can be against us,  embrace your gifts and use them to glorify God and everything you do will work out in Jesus Name Amen

Fix Our Eyes

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4:7-9

God uses us to display his eternal power, he will take the weak and make them strong, he will take the sick and make the immortal, he will part the waters or he will walk on water, its all by the Power of God

We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you. 2 Corinthians 4:10-12

Jesus conquered death and thru him we will conquer death also. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is living in you, does the world see Jesus in you?

It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself.  2 Corinthians 4:13-14

It’s time for Christians to stop mourning and start rejoicing, no matter what man does to us we can’t be defeated, because we have been covered by the Blood of The Lamb

All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:15:16

While the world wastes and spends there time trying to make themselves look better, we are becoming stronger everyday spiritually. The world will pass away but the Kingdom of God will stand forever.

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

Are you fixing your eyes on this world or on eternity? Don’t waste your time on what is temporary but invest your time on what is permanent. The Kingdom of Heaven will stand forever, it was here before us and it will be here after us, its your choice what are you going to fix your eyes on in Jesus Name Amen

God Is Love

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love 1 John 4:7-8

Hatred, violence, and racism don’t come from God. If anyone is filled with these things, they are not filled with the Spirit of God but are filled with the Spirit of Satan.

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:9-10

God loves you enough to sacrifice his only begotten Son, to allow him to take the punishment for your sins. There is no greater love than to lay down your life for others, God displayed ultimate love

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit 1 John 4:11-13

The same Spirit that raised Christ from the Dead is living in you, that is the Spirit of God. You are called to be The Light of the World and The Salt of The Earth, Do people see God living in you?

  And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 1 John 4:14-16

Anyone who acknowledges Jesus before others he will acknowledge them before God. Confess today that Jesus is your Lord and Savior and become transformed with the Spirit of God

This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 1 John 4:17

Nobody can get to the Father without going thru the Son, alone we are not worthy to stand before God but with the blood of Jesus we are worthy and redeemed

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

Fear doesn’t come from God but come from Satan to control and manipulate you. Break the chains today, if God be for us who can be against us, Fear no Evil

We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. 1 John 4:19-21

Jesus commanded us to Love One Another as we Love ourselves. Unless your doing this your not truly doing the Will of God.  Remember We love because he first love us, God made us in his image, he sacrificed his Son for our sins, there is no greater love than God in Jesus Name Amen

Test The Spirits

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

There are many false prophets and false religions in this world, I know I talk about it a lot but its important you know truth from fiction. It’s easy to be led astray that’s why it’s important you know the Word of God so you can discern the truth.

This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world 1 John 4:2-3

What separates Christians from all other religions, of course Jesus Christ. The word Christ actually means “Messiah” or “Anointed One”, its his title not his name. All other religions are worshiping dead prophets but Jesus lives and reigns forever as the King of King and Lord of Lords.

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

The same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is the same spirit living inside you. The Power of God has anointed and equipped you to overcome this world.  Fear doesn’t come from God it comes from Satan

They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 1 John 4:5

You can tell false prophets from the fruit they are bearing, are they reaping worldly riches and possessions or are they doing the will of God and serving his people? A true minister should model there life after Jesus, he gave everything including his own life, to save everyone who is willing to accept it.

We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. 1 John 4:6

The world hates Jesus because he is the truth. You want to truly follow Jesus then be prepared to be crucified on your cross just like he was. But know the world and all its possessions are temporary and will fade away but Gods Kingdom will stand forever.  Jesus will reign King forever, don’t gain the whole world to lose your soul in Jesus Name Amen

Crown of Life

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

There is a war going on right now for your soul, Jesus wants to save it and Satan wants to destroy it. The question is will you persevere under trial? Is your faith strong enough to stand against the schemes of Satan? Or will you continue to fall for his traps of seduction?  Your prize is the crown of life.

When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. James 1:13-14

When we fall for sin who do we blame? Do we blame God for our sins? It’s time to take accountability for yourself. Stop blaming God for your failures and downfalls. You have the power thru Jesus Christ to overcome the world, it’s time to stand up and use it

Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. James 15-16

Our imaginations become breeding grounds for sin, if we let our imaginations get the best of us, sin will get the best of us. This is why we need to renew our minds, and set our minds on things from above and not the things of this world. What you think is what you are. What thoughts is your mind full of today?

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. James 1:17-18

There is only one living God, the creator of the heavens and Earth, and your creator. Everything that you have been blessed with in this world, he blessed you with. He has giving us life and he has giving us grace thru Jesus Christ.

Be strong in the Lord, stand the test of sin today and you will inherit the Crown of Life in Jesus Name Amen

 

Deny Yourself

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. Matthew 16:24

Most of us think of Christianity as Jesus death and resurrection, but there another part which is our part. In order to truly be a Christian we must deny ourselves and become true disciples of Christ. Jesus is a relationship with God, just like any relationship it’s a two-way street. Jesus did his part for us now it’s up to us to do our part for him.

For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. Matthew 16:25

Like Jesus said if you truly want to be reborn you have to let your old self die. That means giving up your worldly lusts for your own pleasure, if you don’t you will just keep falling back into the same traps Satan has planned for you. Become transformed by the renewing of your mind

What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? Matthew 16:26

You need to make a choice, is there any sin worth dying for? Is the temporary pleasure you feel today worth death for eternity? Sin leads to death, make no mistake about it so you need to choose.Jesus is not a permanent “Get out of Jail Free” card, God is willing to forgive thru Jesus sacrifice only if you are being honest.

For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done. Matthew 16:27

God doesn’t have a welfare system, everyone is rewarded by the works they have performed for him. What are you doing today for Gods Kingdom? Are you being the Light of the World and The Salt of The Earth? Are you making disciples of all the nations?

“Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.” Matthew 16:28

Thru Jesus we will have eternal life just as he promised, but we must deny ourselves first , carry your cross, and follow him. Are you willing to do this today, your reward is great in Heaven in Jesus Name Amen

 

New Self thru Christ

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4

Becoming a Christian is more than about just following Jesus, when you accept him your old self died on that cross in Calvary also. And when he was resurrected on the 3rd day, you were resurrected also. For we die and live thru Christ, you have been transformed, set your things on the Kingdom of God and not of this world

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. Colossians 3:5-7

You have become a new creature thru Christ, your sins have been forgiven but that doesn’t give you a free pass to continue to sin. Jesus came to fulfill the law not abolish it, the same laws God handed down to Moses are the same laws we follow today.

But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practicesand have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Colossians 3:8-10

Jesus said its what comes out of your mouth that defiles you, your words have power use them carefully. Learn to forgive and have mercy, blessed are the merciful for they will shown mercy.

Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:11-12

We are all one thru Jesus Christ, treat everyone with compassion no matter what race or gender. Treat everyone as your brother and sister in Christ.

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:13-14

Jesus is the only one who has authority to judge, have forgiveness and mercy towards one another as Christ has for you. Love one another as Christ has loved us.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:15-17

Jesus is the Prince of Peace, we can all have peace knowing he has already defeated death and has forgiven you. Go in Peace and Stay in Peace, for whatever you do , do it for the Glory of God in Jesus Name Amen

Armor of God

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:10-11

Many view Christianity as weak but its quit the opposite, the power of God that rose Jesus Christ from the dead is the same power living in you. God has equipped us to stand against Satan thru  the Armor of God

Satan is like a roaring Lion looking to devour you and your family, we need the Armor of God because there is power in the name of Jesus Christ. Demons tremble by the sound of his name, you are equipped and empowered to take a stand.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

When tragedy strikes us instead of turning to God we often try to fight or recover on our own. This is a big mistake, as alone we are powerless against evil, but with the Armor of God we are equipped to fight back against Satan and his demons.

But first we must acknowledge and recognize there is a spiritual world, a world full of angels and demons that is beyond our comprehension. But we are not alone, God will never leave us or forsake us.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peaceEphesians 6:13-15

Equip yourself with the belt of truth in Gods word. You will not waver when you know the truth and the truth shall set you free. The breastplate of righteousness was giving to us by Jesus on the cross, only by his sacrifice, thru him we can stand against anyone. Stay alert and sober with your feet fitted with readiness, don’t let Satan catch you off guard, always be prepared.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Ephesians 6:16

For we walk by faith and not by sight, your faith will be tested, but if its strong will not waver and will be able to stand against Satans attacks. Faith is your shield, the stronger your faith the stronger your shield will be to protect you

 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:17-18

Satan is the master at manipulation and mindgames, he’s going to get into your head and make you doubt your faith. But remember we have Salvation thru Jesus, when Satan reminds you of your past remind him of his future.

Finally the Word of God is like a double-edged sword, it cuts right to the heart of the wicked. Why are so many offended by the Bible, because its truth and evil doesn’t like truth.

God has equipped you with his Armor to stand against evil, learn it, live it, and use it because its your only defense against the wicked one in Jesus Name Amen
