The Lords Prayer

The Lords Prayer giving to us by Jesus himself is one of the most powerful prayers you can say, lets analyze each verse to see why it’s a blessing

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Matthew 6:9

First we are acknowledging God as our Heavenly father, by this you acknowledge his is our creator. The world hallowed means “to honor as holy” and “greatly respected” so we say Hallowed be God we are saying he is the holiest and greatest of all.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10

What is our purpose in life? Our purpose to prepare for the coming of Gods Kingdom, we our acknowledging our purpose will this verse.

Also we are acknowledging we put our lives in Gods hands, whatever his will let it be done. As promised God will restore the Earth back to perfection and innocence as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11

Jesus said don’t worry about tomorrow for today has enough trouble of its own. Each day we should focus on that day and ask God to enable us to prosper thu this day.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Matthew 6:12

Each day we should start by asking for mercy and forgiveness for our sins and forgive others who have sinned against us. By doing this each day you will live in peace. To hold grudges against people who have wronged you will only keep you imprisoned to there actions.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. Matthew 6:13

God promises not to give us more temptation then we can bear, ask for Gods help to keep the temptations of this world away from you so we won’t fall.

Whenever you call upon God he will answer us, so by asking God to deliver us from evil he will protect us from Satan.

Interesting in the NIV translation they removed the last part of this verse. I feel its important because you are acknowledging Gods kingdom reigns forever.

I usually say this prayer each morning to start my day, as this will start your day right with God and protect and prosper you thru the day in Jesus Name Amen

Pray without Ceasing

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. Acts 12:5

Due to Peters relentless faith in spreading the gospel, the Romans and Jews were playing on executing him. But Peter and the Church had faith in God and understood the principle, “All things are possible with God”

So what was there weapon of warfare? It was prayer, They Prayed without Ceasing, as humans our natural reaction to try and fix all our problems. But our main problem is were not giving our problems up to God.

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. Acts 12:7

The Lord heard the Churches prayers and released Peter from prison, saving his life. A situation that seemed impossible to man, is nothing for our God.  Think about it, Peter was in a prison cell, tied up with chains, and being guarded by Roman soldiers. What possibility do you think the Church thought they had to overpower the Romans and free Peter?

If you’re in a tough situation, don’t think about all the obstacles stacked against you. Pray without Ceasing, our God is the creator of the Heavens and The Earth, he breathed life into man from dust, there is nothing impossible for him.

Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18

As Paul says Pray with Ceasing and Give Thanks to God for everything.  To understand God is to develop a relationship with him thru our Lord Jesus Christ and to develop that relationship we need to Pray without Ceasing. Not just pray when we need something, talk to God. Thank him for everything you have been giving, praise him in the storm and the sunshine.

It’s like any other relationship, a marriage, a friendship, ect, you can’t build a relationship without communication. That’s why you need to “Pray without Ceasing” God wants to know you, not just in bad times but all the time in Jesus Name Amen

Pray without Ceasing

Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17
When do you pray? Only when times are bad? Do you pray when times are good? Do you pray for others instead of yourself?
Prayer is probably the most overused word in conversation; however it’s probably the most underused in reality. How can you communicate with God if you never pray? How do you think it makes him feel if you can’t take the time to pray? Thru prayer we create our relationship with God, not as a servant but as a friend.
(John 15:15) “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.”
Notice Jesus calls us his friends, not servants. We know Jesus loves us because he laid down his life for us all. Therefore if you are friends with someone, don’t you talk to them usually daily? How can you be a friend with someone if they don’t know you or you don’t know them?
Thru prayer we should open our hearts to God, reveal our fears, anxiety, doubt, ect. Cast all your cares onto him because he cares for you.
(Matthew 26:39) “And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.”
Jesus prayed to God about his fears of being crucified on the cross. God probably already knew this but he talked about it anyway. Words left unspoken are meaningless. If you love someone and never actually told them you loved them, is there confirmation that you do love them? No, and the same goes with God, don’t assume he knows the thoughts in your head, it’s much more powerful when you declare them out loud.
(Philippians 4:6) “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
Pray about everything is Paul’s message. Don’t only pray to God when times are bad, but pray for thanksgiving also. Let God know you are blessed, let him know you believe he is the God of Abraham, let him know he is the King of Kings.
When you limit your prayer, you limit your relationship with God. Pray about everything, Pray without ceasing and you will have a closer relationship with your creator Heavenly Father. In Jesus Name Amen
