And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. Luke 18:38
A blind beggar heard Jesus was coming through town, he believed that Jesus could heal him. Think about this mans faith, he is blind and vulnerable. He doesn’t know what Jesus looks like , he just knows Jesus is Lord of ALL
Notice this mans approach to Jesus, he says “Jesus, Have mercy on Me!” He doesn’t say Jesus give me money, Jesus give me health, or Jesus make me happy. He says to Jesus have mercy on a wretched pitiful sinner. This is true repentance, he understands his lowly state and asks the Christ to redeem him!
Are we approaching Jesus with this humility, with this passion, with this expectation that Jesus is truly God
And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. Luke 18:39
The crowd rebuked the blind man, they told him to shut up you fool. However the blind man just screamed and cried out for the Lord Jesus even more! He cried with so much repentance and humility that even the Heavens heard him! Lord Jesus Have Mercy on Me!
And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. Luke 18:42
Jesus answered the man, Receive your healing Your faith has saved You! The original Greek word for Faith is “Pistis” meaning Expectation, Confidence, Belief. This man didn’t have wishful thinking he expected the Lord Jesus to heal him because he is the Lord of Lords!
True faith is an expectation, not a wish! Cry out to the Lord Jesus with an expectation of deliverance Amen!
