Build on the Rock

Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25“And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.… Matthew 7:24,25
What foundation have you built your house on? When the storms of life come in will you stay in faith or do you fall like a dead tree?
It’s easy to be happy, hopeful, and enthusiastic when times are good, but the real test of our character is how we act when times are bad.
Many people forget or never take the time to thank God for anything they are grateful for but as soon as things go wrong they start blaming him. Why do we only remember God during the bad times?
What is the rock? The rock to me is my faith, the Word of God, the promises he made and fulfilled, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to save us for our sins. The rock is solid faith
It’s all about building roots. A tree with strong roots will not only bear good fruit but will also stand in the bad storms. A tree with little or no roots will probably bear no fruit at all and collapse after the first storm
Consider this scripture Jeremiah 17: 8 “For he will be like a tree planted by the water, That extends its roots by a stream And will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, And it will not be anxious in a year of drought Nor cease to yield fruit
When we put our faith and trust in God, no matter what circumstances come our way we can stay in peace because we know he is fighting for us and has us in the palm of his hand
It’s best said in Proverbs 10:25 “When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.”

So no matter what your going thru today, grow some roots and build your house on the rock not the sand. For God is the Alpha and Omega and will endure forever

I pray that anyone who is in distress or going thru a rough circumstance that they reach out to God put there faith in him and acquire peace within the storm Amen

Divided We Fall

“Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. Matthew 12:25

Division is everywhere, It’s believed there are over 41,000 different denominations in Christianity. Everyone claims to have a different interpretation on the same scriptures worshiping the same God
Even though these denominations all follow Jesus some of them are so bitter over there different ideals they probably wouldn’t even have lunch together.
What happened? Satan has divided the Christian churches making them weaker against him. Pride, Greed, Ignorance, ect. are all weapons he used against the Churches.
America has also become a divided nation, if you need an example of that just look at your own neighborhood your living in.
A generation ago everyone used to know everyone; neighbors used to help each other out, there kids used to play with each other.
Now nobody knows each other and everyone lives in fear of each other. If a stranger even acknowledges you in America today it’s a miracle.
What happened? Satan has divided the country among itself to weaken us against our enemies which will lead to our dismay.
Families are divided, to find a non broken family today in America is another miracle. Families are the foundation for life, you take away that foundation and the next generation crumbles
I’m not trying to be a doomsdayer but encouraging everyone to Wake Up! We are destroying ourselves. Most peoples reaction will be it’s not my problem.
We are all in this together, it’s all our problem. If our Country fails, you fail..If our Children fail, you fail..
As its says in Galatians 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

I pray America wakes up and everyone realizes we need to love one another to survive in Jesus Name Amen

Power of Words

Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. James 1:26

Words are powerful they can either bless or curse somebody’s future; I’m sure you still remember something somebody said negative to you maybe even many years ago

That’s why we need to learn to take control of our mouths and hold our peace even when we strongly disagree.
As it says in Proverbs 17:28 “Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues. Notice it says were thought wise when silent
We often believe in order for people to think were intelligent or insightful we need to always have a comment but sometimes just listening is more effective
But we can bless and inspire people with our words Proverbs 16:24 “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”
Hearing the words of praise and acceptance will be an absolute blessing to everyone; As it says in Provebs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

What if you strongly disagree with someone or there opinions? Remember to keep your peace Romans 14:1 “As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions.”

Your not going to accomplish anything by arguing or insulting people; holding your tongue will give you the power to maintain peace
I pray that we learn and understand the power of our words; and that we use our words to bless and encourage one another Amen

Pray Alone

But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. Luke 5:16

Just as Jesus taught us the Lords prayer he also showed us the importance of praying alone

I make it a habit to do a daily prayer alone even with limited free time we have these days we can always find a few minutes for prayer
For without solitude sometimes it can be very distracting and hard to really connect with God; tell him your worries, fears, and what your thankful for
Here is what Jesus said in the book of Matthew about praying; for showing off in public does not impress God
When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 6“But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. Mathew 6:5,6
Now I do think it’s still important for families and friends to pray together; as it says Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

But I think we should take time to find some alone time and share our thoughts and feelings with God; for you can’t really have a relationship unless your open and honest

I pray that everyone connects with God, has a personal relationship and builds faith and trust thru this in Jesus name

God of Life

He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.” Luke 20:38
We live in a society that is obsessed with death; shows about zombies, vampires, ect gives a mislead flirtation with death
For death is the curse of man caused by the sins of Adam and Eve and should not desired.
Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice and saves us from death so we can have eternal life; anyone who doesn’t believe this doesn’t know God
As Jesus said to the Jews in Matthew 22:29 “, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.

God is the tree of life; we cling onto his word and he will provide. But those who don’t will discarded.

Matthew 3:10″ The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

So rejoice for Jesus has saves our souls and cling on to Gods word and produce good fruit
I pray everyone understands the power of God and the gift Jesus has giving us Amen

Work in Progress

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
When you tell people your a Christian you become unfairly judged as people expect you to be perfect or your a hypocrite
But as it says in Romans 3:23 “For we all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God”    Jesus was the only perfect human to ever walk the Earth
The whole reason Jesus came and sacrificed himself for our sins was because we have been incapable of remaining holy; his blood redeems us
Now does that make us excusable for being sinful? Of course not as it says in Samuel 16:7 God judges from the heart”
Samuel 16:7 “But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Everyday is a journey and another battle; all we can do is meditate on the word of God and try to resist temptation and evil

We need to learn to not put ourselves in bad positions where it becomes easy to sin;  as it says in Proverbs ” The wise walk with the wise, for a companion of fools suffer harm”
Just remember Jesus loves us so much he paid the ultimate price; let’s show him the honor and glory he deserves

You are Special

Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm139:16

Today we celebrate Evans birthday! Although Evan was a pleasant surprise for us he wasn’t a surprise for God as he knew him all along

Like it says in the scripture God already has your life laid out for you; whether or not we fulfill our destiny is up to us
Before we had Evan; Heidi would say all the time that she felt someone was missing from our family, and she was right!
As God said to Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart”
I thank God everyday for blessing me and giving me the opportunity to be a father

Just remember this scripture and know that God created you specially also; you have also been set apart

Trial by Fire

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him ” James 1:12
What is the difference between a diamond and a lump of coal? Pressure..I know everyone in the coal region knows that..lol
But “Pressure” can make or break you; some people rise to the occasion while others fall; this really tests your true character
So if your going thru a hard time right now; instead of getting mad at God, stand strong and endure your trial for it too shall pass
But if we fail the test? Are we then to be ashamed? No for the greatest lessons come from our greatest failures. Anybody who has never failed has never done anything.
Remember the disciple Peter. When Jesus told them he was going to be put to death Peter told Jesus he would lay down his life for him
When the Romans came and took Jesus away Peter cracked under pressure and denied he even knew Jesus three times.
You would think Jesus would have been angry with Peter and done with him; but Jesus is love and compassion and didn’t hold it against Peter at all
Peter went on to spread the Gospel of Christ across the World; converting Romans to Christianity and wrote several books in the New Testament.
Peter failed the test but his destiny didn’t end there; you might have failed also but your destiny isn’t over either.
I pray that God gives us the strength to endure our trials and that we might thrive in Jesus name Amen

Help Wanted

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Matthew 9:37

Will there be enough room in God’s kingdom for all of us? Of course there is; in fact there’s a shortage of disciples!

Remember we were all set apart by God before we were even born; God expects us to be in his kingdom it’s up to us if we choose to be
As it says in John 14:2 “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

But remember “what you reap is what you sow”; If you live a sinful life you won’t produce a fruitful future

So what does it take to be a “Laborers” for God? Follow Jesus and let him live thru you so you can be an example to others
Many people rather follow the temporary pleasures of this world;  but they will all fade away where God’s Kingdom is eternal
As it says in 1 John 2:17 ” The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”

I pray that we all follow the will of God and live in his Kingdom forever Amen

Jesus is our Hero

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name Philippians 2:9
If you ask anyone they probably agree the world needs a hero; someone who will save us and never fail us
That hero already exists, his name is Jesus. He saved the whole world and conquered death  Colossians “1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.”
You look at the blockbuster movies Spider Man, Batman, Superman, ect. ect. everyone keeps dreaming of the perfect hero
Jesus is perfect; he never sinned and knew no sin. 2 Cortinthians 5:21 “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Yet people cling onto athletes and musicians and are disappointed when they fail, we need to understand these people are just mortal humans and will never be able to fulfill that role

I think Job said it best Job 4:17 “Can a mortal be more righteous than God? Can even a strong man be more pure than his Maker?”

Follow Jesus he’s your true hero; he will never fail you or forsake you. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

I pray this generation finds Jesus so he can save there souls and give them hope in a hopeless world Amen
