Make You Well

When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Mark 10:47

Who does Jesus have mercy on? Everyone who calls upon the name of The Lord! Here is a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the world has left him for dead. He was discarded like a piece of trash on the side of the street, left to fend for himself. Yet he heard the Savior was coming through town!

And when Bartimaeus heard Jesus was coming through town, he cried out for him. And everyone around him kept telling him to shut up, but that prompted Bartimaeus to cry out even louder! Are you crying out to Jesus?

And answering him, Jesus said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” And the blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, I want to regain my sight!” Mark 10:51

And Jesus answered Bartimaeus cries and replied “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus wants to know from you, what do you want him to change in your life? Are you just saying meaningless prayers or are you having heartfelt conversations with The Lord?

And Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road. Mark 10:52

Notice what Jesus says here, “Your faith has made you well”, see without faith we cant do anything, God cant work in our lives without faith. We need to be “ALL IN”, Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for deliverance and he will make you Well (Spiritually) meaning Eternal Life Amen!

Raptured

As they were going along and talking, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire which separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven. 2 Kings 2:11

When we talk about the “Rapture” doctrine it becomes controversial. Many say the Rapture doctrine is made up or it will never happen, however it has already happened, several times. As its documented in 2 Kings Elijah was “Raptured” to Heaven and never faced death.

The word “Rapture” is the English translation for the Latin word “Rapturo” which simply means “taken up”. Those who argue the word Rapture was never in the Bible, technically are wrong because it was in the Latin translation called the Vulgate.

By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; AND HE WAS NOT FOUND BECAUSE GOD TOOK HIM UP; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God. Hebrews 11:5

Enoch was another person who was “Raptured” and never faced death. But the conspiracy theorist say Mr. Google says the Rapture was madeup in the 1800’s , wrong again. Its noted in the Book of Genesis that Enoch was “taken up” to Heaven and never faced death

And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. Acts 1:9

Jesus Christ was “Raptured” or Ascended to Heaven after the 40 days of his Resurrection. Why is it so hard for Christians to believe they will be “Taken Up” into the clouds to meet the Lord?

Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:17

The Apostle Paul taught about a great Rapture that was to come, Christians who have an issue with this doctrine believe it takes away from the death and persecution of current and past Christians, it doesn’t. The Rapture is an event that will kick off the Great Tribulation. It doesn’t mean there currently is no suffer or persecution for Christians.

I think the Rapture is a special event that is going to kick off the greatest Revival the world has never seen. As many , including Orthodox Jews, will come to Christ during the Tribulation and enter his Kingdom forever! Amen!

Servant of Christ

But Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?” Mark 10:38

Leonard Ravenhill once said “So you really want to be like Jesus?” Most Christians would probably answer Yes, but as Ravenhill then points out, are we willing to go 40 days and night in the desert with no food and being tempted by Satan himself? Probably not, point is there is a reason why Jesus is the Son of God and why we are his servants. We cant lose focus of that as Christians

The Zebedee Brothers (Sons of Thunder) James and John lost this focus. They got so wrapped up in what they were accomplishing for God, that they believed they could sit at the right hand of Jesus. Jesus said to them “You don’t even know what your asking”

But it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. Mark 10:43-44

Jesus tried to explain to his disciples , the way the Kingdom of God works is a lot different then the way the world works. If you want to be great in Gods Kingdom, then be a servant! Who wants to be a servant? Exactly it goes against our human flesh and logic. We want to be a King where God is making us to be a servant.

Many ministries start off with good intentions and then they lose focus. Then end up becoming more ego drive then Christ centered. Don’t forget who you are, a servant of Jesus Christ! Humble yourself and you will be exalted by God Amen!

God Alone

And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. Mark 10:18

Often when people read this story about the “Rich Young Ruler” they believe its just a valuable lesson about God and money. However there is much more that is going on in this story, I think this story is one of the true revelations of Jesus deity.

The Rich man asks Jesus what do I need to do to inherit eternal life? Now notice this man recognizes who Jesus is, the Messiah (Christ). Hes specifically coming to Christ to ask him about gaining eternal life. But notice Jesus response “Why do you call me good?  No one is good except God alone “

So if God is the only one good , how can Jesus be the atonement for your sins unless he is God?

If Jesus is not God, then he wouldn’t be good, therefor he wouldn’t be able to be your atonement for your sins

See those who deny the Trinity (Godhead) of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have real salvation issues. Because if you remove the deity from Christ, hes no longer able to be a sinless sacrifice. But when you recognize Jesus is God , he is able to take away your sins because he is sinless

The original Greek word for “Good” is “Agathos” which deeper meaning is “originates from God” “empowered by God”

This word is used to describe the “Good” Tree that bears “good” fruit opposed to the bad trees thrown in the fire (Matthew 7)

This word is used to describe the “Good” Soil that produces “good” fruit opposed to bad soil that is overtaken by Satan (birds) or withers and dies (Luke 8)

Remember Jesus said Nobody is Good except God alone, nobody can be saved except by Christ Alone! Amen!

Cling To God

“But you are to cling to the LORD your God, as you have done to this day. Joshua 23:8

While Joshua was nearing the end of his life, he had some valuable words to give to the Israelites, “Cling to God”! What was Joshua talking about here? The Israelites were in the process of claiming their “Promised Land” During this process they were to drive out the pagan nations living there.

What Joshua was telling them is, if you don’t keep your eyes focused on Yahweh, you will fall away to worshipping other gods and practices. This is exactly what happened to most Israelites, after Joshua passed away, most Israelites became complacent in their faith.

Instead of driving out the pagan nations, most Israelites just started merging with them. This became disastrous to Israel. As most forgot about their true God and started worshipping false gods and idols

“So take diligent heed to yourselves to love the LORD your God. Joshua 23:11

Another translations of this is to “Watch yourself carefully”. It means keep your eyes focused on Christ! How many of us nonchalantly just fall away from our faith when we are not “clinging” or “heeding” ourselves to Christ? It’s a commitment, we must stay committed to our God or we will eventually fade away

And He said to him, “‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ Matthew 22:37

Jesus said to Love God with all your Heart, Soul, and Mind! This is also known as the Shema in Hebrew. Cling to The Lord! Abide in Christ in everything you do! When we lose our focus on Christ we become lost! Cling to Jesus! Amen!
