Cross Is Foolishness

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God 1 Corinthians 1:18

When non-believers and skeptics hear about the cross, they just don’t understand. How can a group of people put so much emphasis and praise into a Roman torture device? A device that nobody comes back alive and is tortured for hours at the entertainment of the wicked crowds

How can God take a torture device and use it to free his people from the slavery of sin and death? Why would the Son of God willingly lay down his life, have his body broken and blood poured out, for wretched sinners?

This is what makes the cross foolishness to the unsaved, they can’t ponder the amazing love and grace from God. How do we as believers understand this love? We can’t but we accept it by faith and become washed clean and Born Again!

For it is written, “I WILL DESTROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE, AND THE CLEVERNESS OF THE CLEVER I WILL SET ASIDE.” Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?1 Corinthians 1:19-20

The skeptic gets angry and declares “This is foolishness”! They believe they are smarter than their Creator, and redemption from God is not possible. However, Resurrection Sunday showed us that our Salvation has been completed by Jesus Christ!

The power of God was displayed at the cross, where Christ took the penalty for our sins, and rose again! Hallelujah to the Lamb of God! Amen!

Sweet Anointing

While He was in Bethany at the home of Simon the leper, and reclining at the table, there came a woman with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume of pure nard; and she broke the vial and poured it over His head. Mark 14:3

Think about this, a feast was being given in Jesus honor. Why? First look at who is hosting the feast, Simon the leper. Lepers can’t own property therefor this man was probably healed by Jesus Christ himself.

Second a woman, who was uninvited, pours a whole jar of perfume on Jesus head that is worth about a whole years salary. Think about that, would you put your whole years salary in the offering plate? Would you be willing to approach the Lords table?

But Jesus said, “Let her alone; why do you bother her? She has done a good deed to Me. Mark 14:6

Some of the men, including Judas Iscariot , quickly rebuked her for wasting the perfume. This was because Judas was a thief and didn’t truly love God. But notice Jesus reaction, he told them to “Let her alone”!

This was big, as Jesus rebuked his own disciples for a woman. At that time woman were not considered equal to men. For Jesus to defend her shows the coming of his Kingdom, the change in the New Covenant!

“She has done what she could; she has anointed My body beforehand for the burial. Mark 14:8

What nobody realized was that she was confirming the prophecy of his death. This event happened only a day before the events of when Jesus gets arrested. This event Jesus said would be remembered forever.

One woman’s act of worship to her Lord turned into a memorial that is eternal, Amen!

Son Of Man

Then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN CLOUDS with great power and glory. Mark 13:26

The return of our Lord Jesus Christ! What a day that will be, what a glorious day for the elect! It will be a horrible day for the wicked, for the ones who rejected Christ and followed Satan. The judgement of God is about to come on the Earth!

Who is the Son of Man? It’s the fulfillment of the prophecy by Daniel, the Messiah (Christ) Jesus! He used this title over and over again to let people know who he is, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. Mark 13:32

Many false prophets and cult groups made millions of dollars predicting fake prophecy of when Christ would return. Know this, nobody knows the day or hour! Could be now or thousands of years from now, whenever Christ comes, we need to be ready! Keep your lamps lit (filled with the Holy Spirit) like the 5 Virgins! (Matthew 25)

“I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him. “And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, That all the peoples, nations and men of every language Might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14

Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father, the fulfillment of the Son of Man prophecy. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Jesus Christ is Lord! And the Kingdom of God is eternal!

Are you ready? Keep looking up and keep your lamps lit because the King is coming soon! Amen!

What Is A Mother?

What is a Mother? A mother to me is core and center of a family. Without the mother there would be no life, as only a womb and the love of a special woman can bring life into existence. As a Father I cant provide all the essential things that a Mother could. I cant provide the loving compassion of a Mother, I can try but always come up short. I cant provide the gentle soothing voice of a mother, I can try but will never sound right. I cant be the gentle place to fall , I can always try but probably the fall would still be rocky

The truth is we cant duplicate or replicate Mothers. Mothers are a special gift from God that provide every essential for human life. And yes woman can accomplish amazing feats just as men, but woman can never be replaced as a Mother because they have been chosen by God for this special purpose

So today I wanted to honor our Mothers and let them know that just as God highly chose Mary to be the mother of Jesus, he highly chose all of you to be the mother of your children. This is not a calling that should be taken and seen lightly. It’s a calling that only special woman can fulfill. And I just wanted to say that I respect and love all of you from the bottom of my heart!

Birth Pains

And Jesus began to say to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. Many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He!’ and will mislead many. Mark 13:5-6

While Jesus was talking about the destruction of the Temple, one of his disciples asked him
“What will be the signs for the end”? “When will the end come?”  Jesus said “Many” will come in his name and mislead “Many”

So how do we know if we are being misled? The first rule of thumb is if a groups doctrine doesn’t line up with scripture, don’t believe it! This is why many groups and cults want to discredit the Bible. If you can discredit the Bible, then you lose that solid foundation of true Christianity.

Most “cult” groups have additional teachings on top of the Bible. This should be a red flag for you, let the Holy Spirit interpret scripture for you. Cult groups who make their literature as sacred as the Bible are typically false teachers. Examples are the Watchtower, Book of Mormons, 28 Fundamental Beliefs, ect.

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be frightened; those things must take place; but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places; there will also be famines. These things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.  Mark 13:7-8

Often every time we see a war or conflict between nations, everyone is yelling “End of the World”, but Jesus said these things will happen and are merely birth pains for the Great Tribulation yet to come. Many cult groups jump on these end time fears to scare followers in believing their doctrine.

This is where our true faith in Christ comes in, don’t be misled by false teachers or cult groups, you are saved by the blood of Christ! Trust in the Word of God and not the words of man! Amen!
