King of Kings

Hopes placed in mortals die with them; all the promise of their power comes to nothing. Proverbs 11:7

Are you placing your hope in this year’s presidential election? Every election the candidates like to give us inspiring speeches about how they are going to resolve all the nations’ problems. And for a time, you might actually buy into these hopes. But eventually reality sets in and we find out the candidates are just telling you what you want to hear. Most of them become disgraced with corruption and unmoral lifestyles. But we continue to fall for these mortals because our hope is misplaced.

We already have a Savior; we have a Messiah, Jesus Christ. He lived a sinless and blameless life (1 Peter 2:22). All the nations and governments rest on his shoulders.(Isaiah 9:6) If you want to see a change in your life, accept Jesus as your Lord, and you will see true transformation. But if we continue to put our hopes in mortals, then you will continually be let down and disappointed.

Our Kingdom is not of this world, yet,(John 18:36) however we live in this nation today so we should continue to be the Salt and Light (Matthew 5) we were called to be. Can voting make a difference? Absolutely, for nations and governments were established by God.(Romans 13:1) We can vote for leaders who will be our voice on issues that count. But don’t blindly put all your hopes and dreams in mortals, for they will continue to fail you. Put your faith and trust in our King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus, the almighty Son of God, Amen

Choose Life

The wages of the righteous is life, but the earnings of the wicked are sin and death. Proverbs 10:16

What wages are you earning? Just as with our jobs we earn wages, the same is with life. The wages we earn are based on the fruit we produce. If we, by the blood of Christ, live a righteous life, then we will get the wages of eternal life. But if we live a life of evil and sin, the wages are death (Romans 6:23)

Jesus taught us that every good tree bears good fruit, and bad trees bear bad fruit (Matthew 7:17) These are the wages of your spirituality. If you truly are a disciple of Christ, then the evidence will show in your lifestyle. And as Jesus said “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire” (Matthew 7:19) So the question is what fruit are we producing? What are the wages we are earning?

If we live by the Spirit, we must walk by the Spirit (Galatians 5:25) You can’t walk with God and hold hands with the devil. The true Christian will be made know by their wages and fruit. For God will repay everyone according to their deeds (Romans 2:6) Choose Life, choose Jesus Christ Amen

Trust In Jesus

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding Proverbs 3:5

Trust–  firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability or strength of someone or something

Do you truly trust in The Lord? Do you have firm belief that Jesus is your Lord and Savior?

What will it take for you to truly Trust in Jesus? Even though we were still sinners he died for us (Romans 5:8) A sacrificial love that was given to us even when we didn’t deserve it. Is Love not enough to earn trust?

Jesus is The Truth , Life , and Way (John 14:6) The Living Word that became flesh, he revealed who God is and the plan for our lives. Do you reject The Lord because you reject truth? Why is Truth so difficult to accept? Because it forces us to reflect on our own lives?

What happens when we continue to lean on our own understanding? Can the blind lead the blind? Jesus opens the eyes of the blind, (Isaiah 42:7) once was lost and now found. To fully trust in The Lord is follow him with your whole heart and not lean on your understanding. Because our understanding can’t compare to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords in Jesus Name Amen

Free

Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.  2 Peter 2:16

What does true freedom mean? To live as free people, is to live with no fear. For God doesn’t give us a Spirit of Fear but of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7) We don’t have to live in fear because your soul was set free, set free but the blood of Christ. If the son has set you free, you are free indeed (John 8:36)

But we don’t use this freedom to cover up evil . For our old selves had died and a new creature has been born. (2 Corinthians 5:17) For if we live by the Spirit we must walk by the Spirit (Galatians 5:12) If you live a life of sin you are not a Child of God but a slave to satan. There is only true freedom in Christ when we become a slave to God

There is only one Way, Truth, and Life to eternal life, all other roads lead to death. Therefor there is only one true way to freedom and its through Jesus Christ. At the cross your freedom can be found, he has gathered his lost sheep and is taking us home. So if Jesus is your Lord and Savior, take heart knowing you a free, because the Son has set you free indeed in Jesus Name Amen

Our Advocate

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever- John 14:16

Before Jesus ascended to heaven he promised to send us an advocate (NIV), a comforter (KJV), and Helper (ESV) to live with us forever. Think about that, the power of God is living inside of you forever. The same power that rose Jesus from dead is living inside us (Romans 8:11)

The Biblical definition of advocate is  one who defends, one who pleads the cause of another and one who comforts

As God has promised he will never leave or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) The Holy Spirit is with us always, we are never alone. We don’t have to worry about the trials and tribulations in our lives because God is with us. And if God is with us who can be against us? (Romans 8:31) We can have the Faith, Hope, and Love of God in our lives regardless of the circumstances because the our covenant with God is eternal

How can it be possible to feel love and joy when faced with a difficult situation? It’s because we have been given the Fruits of The Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) The Fruits of the Spirit are Love, Joy, Peace, Forbearance, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control. The power of God allows us the strength to do all things through Christ (Philippians 4:19) Why would you want to try and take the world on alone? God has equipped us with the Fruits of The Spirit to be overcomers, because Christ has already overcome the world in Jesus Name Amen

Promise Land

And in the wilderness. There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” Deuteronomy 1:31

During the Israelites 40-year journey to the Promise Land, they endured some hard times. There was a lot of uncertainty about food, shelter, ect but God continually provided all their needs. Even in the barren wilderness, he provided them daily Manna and streams of running water in the desert. God never left them or forsake them just as a Father cares for his son

What about your life journey? Are you traveling through the wilderness of the unknown? Not sure what tomorrow will bring? Have faith that God will never leave you and will provide all your needs. If you follow Gods plan, you will be on the journey for your “Promise Land”. But the question is, will you stay on the path of righteousness? Or like many will you waver and go astray?

God cares for you as a Father, he will carry you when you become weary. Don’t miss out on your “Promise Land” , keep pressing on to the prize, in Jesus Name Amen

Hope In Jesus

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

Can we truly live with no hope? If you don’t have hope in Jesus, where does your hope come from? Hope is the anchor for the soul (Hebrews 6:19) When things start looking dark we can renew our strength in the hope and promises of Jesus Christ, who has already overcome the world (John 16:33)

Come to me all you who are weary and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28) These are the word of Jesus Christ, who is our Sabbath, he gives us peace and rest during the storms of life. Are you weary and burdened? Come to Jesus and let him refresh your soul with his grace, mercy and truth

Not only will you be renewed but you will soar on wings like eagles, Why? Because nothing can separate us from the love of God ( Romans 8:38) On the cross Jesus has defeated every force of evil, IT IS FINISHED Because of this victory in Christ, we will walk and not be faint! We are victorious in Jesus Name Amen

Consequences of Sin

Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? Proverbs 6:28

Can someone sin without consequences? Absolutely not, and this what the Proverb is trying to tell us. When you think about any sin, there is a consequence. Drugs or alcohol lead to intoxication, which ruins your health, could lead to death. Sexual immorality leads to STD’s and/or the breaking up of families. Ect. Ect. The reason God hates sin so much is it goes against his plan for Creation, which was eternal life .

We know the wages of our sins is death (Romans 6:23) You can’t walk through the fire without getting burned. But there is a solution to our sin and its Jesus Christ. He has paid the ransom for our sins so we can live again (1 Timothy 2:6)

However, if you continue your sinful life it will lead to death and destruction. Set your mind on things above and not on Earthly things (Colossians 3:2) Turn away from evil, truly repent, meaning change your sinful lifestyle. Strive to live a holy life. Our bodies are the temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16) we need to treat them this way

If you continue to live a sinful lifestyle, when the consequences of those sins strike your life, you have no one to blame but yourself. You can’t walk through the fire without being burned, but you can walk with Christ and live forever in Jesus Name Amen

Lack Nothing

Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” “Nothing,” they answered. Luke 22:35

What do you lack today? Do you always feel you need something more? Just as Jesus sent out his disciples into the world with no money or even sandals, they lacked nothing. Why? Because they understood the principle that God will provide all of our needs (Philippians 4:19)

We’ve become a spoiled generation that never has enough, we need more clothes, bigger houses, and shinier cars, but we don’t understand is we are becoming slaves to our devices. Every material item you want comes with a big price tag that will put you in debt even more. True freedom only comes when you learn to let go over your reliance on worldly objects and trust in God

Just as Jesus taught us God already knows your needs (Matthew 6:8), he knows you need clothing, food, and housing. If you draw near God he will draw near you (James 4:8) Learn to rely on God for all your needs, just as he takes care of the birds in the air, he will take care of you (Matthew 6:26)

The Lord is our Shepherd and we lack nothing (Psalm 23 ) Put you trust in God, the one who breathed life into your body (Genesis 2:7) God will provide all your needs in Jesus Name Amen

True Repentance

As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly. Proverbs 26:11

Does it feel like you keep getting stuck in the same circumstances? Do you continually fall for the same traps? This proverb is probably not the most popular but it’s very true. We want to live a blessed and peaceful life however we keep falling for the same addictions and diseases that caused us these hardships. What we need is true repentance if we want to see God work in our lives

Many times when we hear the word “repent” we think confess our sins to God and that’s it. But the true Biblical meaning of repentance is to change is to change our minds and actions (Luke 3) To just confess your sins but not change your actions would be useless. When we truly accept Christ and repent, we become transformed (Romans 12:2) and a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17) Remember God reads our hearts and minds (Romans 8:27) if you say you are a Christian but your actions don’t show it, God knows you’re a liar

The Biblical meaning of the word “Folly” means weakness, thoughtless procedure, meaning what your sin of choice is. So if your addicted to pornography, even though you thought you repented, you continually return to that sin of pornography. You are then the dog returning to his own vomit, how can you believe your life will be any different if you don’t cut out your sin or folly? Jesus taight us whatever it is that makes us sin to “Cut it Out” (Matthew 5:29-30) Does that mean it will be easy? No, but as Jesus said its better to go without now than to lose your soul forever.

Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand , stop returning to your folly, allow Christ into your heart and become transformed in Jesus Name Amen
