He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, But whoever walks wisely will be delivered. Proverbs 28:26

 

Who do you put your trust in? Do you put your trust in yourself or Jesus? One of humanity’s biggest failures is they believe they can save themselves. This is our first issue, not recognizing our depravity as sinners. Secondly it’s our arrogance in believing there is no higher intelligence than ourselves.

 

Jesus said “There is Nobody good but God alone” (Mark 10:18) Anyone who believes they don’t need a Savior, is deceiving themselves. The Bible tells us “Anyone who says they have no sin, is a liar , and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8) We need to recognize we are all sinners and this is why the world needs Jesus Christ

 

That is the good news (the Gospel) that Christ paid the penalty for our sins so we can be reconciled back to the Father. Once you understand this, its puts life into a whole new perspective. Dont deceive yourself into believing your a “good” person and can earn your way into Heaven. You need a Savior, you need Jesus!

 

The next part is , once you understand that we have a Creator, who is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, you realize its foolish to trust in your own heart. Why wouldn’t you turn to your Heavenly Father who is greater than all things?

 

But often pride strikes us down, even though we know its logical that God exists and we know the state of our depravity. We harden our hearts to reject God , we have become fools. But those who trust in Jesus will be delivered Amen!

      Amen Ron! Even when we were still sinners , Christ died for us! That still amazes me today that He loved us enough , even when we were his enemy, to lay down his life! Amazing Grace! God bless you Ron and family!

    How very true.
    There is nothing in the human heart that desires God, since Adam & Eve they fell for the lie, you shall not die, you shall be like god, to chose between good & evil.
    And you are correct the Pride of man is our downfall.
    And it is so, once Born-again by His Spirit we are saved, and praise the Lord, He also shall continue the work of sanctification by the same Spirit, that first Graced us with the Gift of Repentance leading unto Salvation.
    For their is only one God and One Mediator between God and Man…the man the Lord Jesus Christ!
