One Body

Is not the cup of blessing which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread which we break a sharing in the body of Christ? 1 Corinthians 10:16

There are so many beautiful things about Communion, it’s a complete shame for any Christian who doesn’t regularly practice it. Besides the fact that Jesus commanded us to “Do this in remembrance of him” (Luke 22:19) The symbolic natures and fellowship we receive from communion is a spiritual experience in itself

The Cup that represents the shedding of Jesus blood, that is the complete atonement for our sins, we share that same Cup of Christ. Think about that, with all the divisions in Christianity, we all share the same Cup of Salvation

The Bread that is symbolic for the breaking of Jesus body on the cross, again we all share that same bread that took the punishment for our sins. The penalty that we deserved , was taken voluntarily by Christ. We partake all in that same Cup and Bread, what a beautiful sign of unity and fellowship

Since there is one bread, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one bread. 1 Corinthians 10:17

We are One Body of Christ, for we all partake in unity from the same Cup and Bread, that was given to us from the One True Lord and God. As we mourn his death and celebrate his victory through the resurrection. We anticipate the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ together! Amen!

Gifts Of The Holy Spirit

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:4

One of the great controversies of Christianity is the gifts of the Holy Spirit. There are some “Christians” who will claim you need to be able to speak in tongues as proof you are saved, while others will claim “if you just have enough faith you will be healed”. These claims are all misunderstandings of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

While I believe that speaking in tongues and healing are legitimate gifts of the Spirit, they are not essential to be saved and they are not gifts every Christian will receive. I have never spoken in tongues before  and I am saved. There’s a lot of “Christians” who will fake having gifts to prove their salvation, You Don’t Need to Do This! In fact your committing blasphemy lying about possessing gifts from God which you don’t have

But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

Paul explains everyone has different gifts based on what Gods wills you to have. To say all Christians have the same gift is not Biblical. Just as God has given all of us some sort of talent, God has also ordained us believers a specific gift of the Holy Spirit. What is your gift? You’ll have to figure that out with God, however I will tell you this you do have a gift!

One of the most abused areas in Christianity is false prophets and teachers pretending to have gifts they don’t possess. Don’t be like them, you are not impressing anyone. Anyone who is truly Born Again can tell you’re a fraud and eventually you’ll be ignored

Rely on the Holy Spirit in everything you do! Don’t just rely on your human talents, God can take your ministry further than you can imagine if you submit to his authority Amen!

Where Is Your Hope?

For what is the hope of the godless when he is cut off, When God requires his life? Job 27:8

Heres a great question to ponder that Job stated, what Hope do the Godless people have when they die? The irony of this is when Christians raise their children on the Bible, Atheist will call this “child abuse”. How can we teach our childrens such things are they were handpicked and created by God, that Jesus loved them enough to die for their sins, and if they put their faith in Jesus they can inherit eternal life.

I know all these things are horrible to teach children (sarcasm) however lets take a look at an Atheist point of view that they would teach their children.

  1. Since the world unknowingly and randomly created itself that we are just an accident
  2. Since you’re an accident there is no real purpose for your life
  3. We evolved from apes or fish, nobody is really clear
  4. When we die we all cease to exist, never to be heard from again

So this is truly what an Atheist would have to teach their children if there being honest with their worldview. We could also throw in since there is no God, there is no morality, there also is no hope of anyone saving you

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 Peter 1:3

Because of Jesus Christ we as Christians have eternal hope. Jesus is our Living Hope because he has overcome the grave. God knew us before he formed us in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5) , God does have a purpose for your life (Jeremiah 29:11) We were made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and God has an eternal Kingdom waiting for us (John 14, Revelation 21)

I rather teach my children to true promises from God rather than the lies of this world Amen!

Born This Way?

No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Usually when people are living a sinful lifestyle, they will say “ Well God made me this way” or “this is just who I am” these are poor excuses that wont be acceptable on judgement day. The Bible teaches God doesn’t Tempt anyone (James 1:13) So our excuse that God made us this way is wrong. Satan likes to tempt us with sin, so he can trap and destroy us

Some sin may seem to difficult to overcome but God promises that he will provide a way of escape. The first lesson is Jesus taught us to Deny Ourselves (Luke 9:23) when you do this the temptation for sin becomes for minimum because your life is then not about pleasing your flesh but pleasing God

Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. 1 Corinthians 10:11

The Apostle Paul used Israel as an example, God provided everything they needed, from the Manna from Heaven to the Living Water in the wilderness. However the Israelites continued to live in sin and tempt God even though he delivered them from slavery

Don’t be like the Israelites, don’t throw away your salvation for the temptations of your flesh. Jesus Christ is the Way, the only way to salvation and eternal life Amen!

Day Of Pentecost

The Day of Pentecost, a day Promised by our Lord Jesus Christ that was the fulfillment of the Festival of Weeks. This day changed the course of humanity forever, as now the Holy Spirit lives inside of us and among us everyday.

Gods people are no longer left on their own but have the power of God living inside of us. How do we understand or tap into this power as believers is the question? The only way to do this is to understand the teachings of Christ and accept them by faith.

By the power of the Holy Spirit, we have the opportunity to become changed and transformed. We have the power to overcome things we couldn’t do by our own human ability. We can obtain wisdom and understanding beyond human comprehension. And we can obtain sanctification that can develop us more than Christ.

The Holy Spirit is a gift from God that if ignored or rejected probably will be fatal to your soul

My Redeemer Lives

“As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth. Job 19:25

Job was suffering tremendously, he lost all his children, he lost all his possessions, and he lost his health.  There was no reason for Job to ever glorify God or even acknowledge Gods existence. Jobs own wife told him to “Curse God and die” (Job 2:9) However Job did the opposite he declared “My Redeemer Lives”

Even though Job was being persecuted by Satan he knew it wasn’t Gods doing. In fact Job had faith that God would redeem him eventually. How many of us have this kind of faith when facing trials and suffering?

“Even after my skin is destroyed, Yet from my flesh I shall see God; Whom I myself shall behold, And whom my eyes will see and not another. My heart faints within me! Job 19:26-27

Job understood this life is temporary and he longed to see God one day! How many of us focus on the eternal things and not the temporary things of this world? This is the dangers of “Prosperity Gospel”, people falsely believe they will be “blessed” for accepting Christ, is not Biblical

Jesus taught us the opposite, you will face trials, you will face persecution, you might even face death because of your faith. However because we have Christ, we can declare like Job “Our Redeemer Lives” because Jesus overcame the grave, we too will inherit eternal life through Jesus Amen!
