Isaiah 53

Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? Isaiah 53:1

Again The Arm (Jesus Christ) being revealed again as in total connection with God (Trinity) Who has believed Gods message of Salvation?  Will You?

For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. Isaiah 53:2

Jesus born in a manger, worked as a Carpenters Son. He lowered himself below the angels to become our suffering servant, poor with no outward beauty.

He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Isaiah 53:3

The world still hates Jesus today, because he is the Light of The World, who brought Truth and Grace into this world and set the captives Free! Anyone of this world will still continue to hate him because God is not in them

Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. Isaiah 53:4

They considered Jesus cursed by God because he took his wrath, but that wrath was for Our Sins and not His. Because Christ was sinless yet dies for all the sinners

But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

Pierced by Crucifixion, prophesied 700 years before Christ birth. Prophesied before Crucifixion was even invented, Jesus was nailed to the cross for our Sins

All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him  Isaiah 53:6

We are all sinners and have rebelled from God, yet Jesus willingly allowed the wrath of Our Sins to Fall On Him because he loves us

He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.  Isaiah 53:7

Even though Jesus was beaten and abused, he never cursed any of his enemies. Instead he took their evil and used it to bring salvation to the world

By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who considered That He was cut off out of the land of the living For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due? Isaiah 53:8

Innocence was murdered, God in the flesh was murdered, yet nobody protested. Because of our sins he was killed

Hard Teachings

So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. John 6:53

This is one of Jesus hardest teachings for people to understand, when Jesus taught this many people stopped following him. Why? Because they didn’t understand what Jesus was saying. Just like when Jesus was trying to teach Nicodemus the concept of being “Born Again” he was taking it literally instead of “Spiritually”, the same was happening with this teaching

Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this said, “This is a difficult statement; who can listen to it?” John 6:60

Many of Jesus own disciples said “This was a difficult or hard teaching” “Who can listen or accept it?”  The Bible has many hard teachings, however that doesn’t mean we can dismiss or ignore them. God has a purpose for all his teachings and revelations. The reason nobody could understand this teaching was because they were thinking from the flesh and not by the Spirit

But Jesus, conscious that His disciples grumbled at this, said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble? John 6:61

Jesus knew many would have problems with this teaching, but he wanted to see if they would still trust him. Would they still obey God even if it offends them? We see this a lot in Christianity today, many get offended by The Bible, therefor walk away from God. But this shows our true character, do we love ourselves more than God? Do we not trust God enough to follow him?

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. John 6:63

Jesus taught about Spiritual issues, therefor those who look at things from the flesh, don’t understand. We know that he was teaching them about communion (Lords Supper) the bread is symbolic of his flesh and the wine is symbolic of his blood. It makes sense to us today but at the time many didn’t understand and it caused them to stumble in their faith

Don’t allow hard or difficult teachings in the Bible to make you stumble in your faith. Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and guidance, keep seeking for answers, and most importantly trust in Jesus!

Arm of God

The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. Isaiah 52:10

Who is The Arm of God? Very simply its Jesus Christ, the prophet Isaiah by the Holy Spirit reveals several times through his teachings, that Jesus is the Arm of God. The Arm is very symbolic for strength, power, and hand work. However Jesus has strength and power that the Jewish people didn’t expect. He wasn’t a mighty pollical and military warrior. He was God that became flesh and defeated evil with wisdom and righteousness.

This is also very symbolic how the Trinity works, the Father and Son are separate but connected. As Jesus said “I and the Father Are One” (John 10:30) How can this be? Very simply that same way you and your arm are connected also. But the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all do the same will or essence of God, yet serve different functions

Notice this scripture says “God has revealed Jesus(Holy Arm) to “The Eyes of ALL Nations” meaning the entire world not just Israel.  “And ALL The Ends of The Earth” (World) Shall See Salvation (Jesus) of our God . The name Yeshua (Jesus) means Salvation, Jesus name is literally in this scripture. Hebrew names had meaning so calling Jesus (Yeshua) would be the same as calling him Salvation

“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12

Salvation can only be obtained through Jesus which literally means Salvation! The Arm of God has been revealed to the entire world so that everyone can come to salvation! Only by the blood of Christ can we be redeemed Amen!
