Soldiers Under Command

You therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ  2 Timothy 2:3

When you become a Christian you become a Soldier Under Command. A soldier under Gods command to endure the hardness and fight the good fight of faith. We must not approach our faith lightly and we should expect hardship and trials among the way.

This shows you have far off the “Prosperity Gospel” is from the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our riches are not of this world but are the grace from God through Jesus Christ

No man that wars entangles himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who has chosen him to be a soldier. 2 Timothy 2:4

We don’t live to please ourselves but to please God who has chosen us to be a “Soldier Under Command”. The “Prosperity Gospel” tells you lies of pursing riches and fame. But a true Soldier of Christ denies themselves and becomes a servant to God

And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully. 2 Timothy 2:5

If we expect to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, we must inherit it lawfully. Meaning we must truly be a “Soldier Under Command “for God and not for this world. We can’t expect to live for this world and be living lawfully for God, for we can only serve one master.

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you are also called, and have professed a good profession before many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12

As Soldiers Under Command we must remember to “Fight the Good Fight” for Jesus Christ. We must be prepared to endure the hardships and press on as soldiers in Jesus Name Amen

Happy Anniversary

The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2:18

God made the perfect man in Adam but he was not complete without his wife. You see none of us were designed to live alone, we were designed to have a partner that has been chosen by God to be our helper.

I am blessed to be married to my helper and soulmate. Alone I don’t know where I would be today, but together we’ve been united for 18 years and grown a beautiful family and life. So today I’m honoring my wife Heidi, who God has sent me to be my partner forever.

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Genesis 2:24

Its important to remember when your married that Two become One flesh. You are no longer living for yourself or a separate life. Everything you do is a reflection of your partner also. I truly believe God made marriage this way, remember you are living for your spouse also not just yourself

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her Ephesians 5:25

Another important reminder is Husbands need to love their wives just as Jesus loves us. Let reflect on how Jesus showed us his love, he was willing to sacrifice himself to save our lives. We should have that same deep love for our spouses also. A marriage will also fail unless we put Jesus in the middle.

However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Ephesians 5:33

Finally we must also love our spouses as we love ourselves. You want your partner to be encouraging and uplifting, so you should be the same towards them. Remember Two become One flesh, you are one. Don’t do anything that you wouldn’t want done to you.

I personally want to thank God for sending me my wife, Heidi, we complete each other. She has blessed me in so many ways, and I only hope that I can do the same for her. I pray that God continues to bless and protect our family in Jesus Name Amen

Jesus is Not a Religion

The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. Matthew 16:1

When is God ever going to be enough for us? The religious leaders that lived during that time with Jesus continually rejected him even though he showed them many miracles before. Why is that? Because they never wanted to accept Jesus because then there religion would be pointless.

Many atheists claim they reject God because of religion, but Jesus is not a religion. Jesus is the Living Word of God in the flesh. You can’t blame your rejection on God due to manmade rituals and rules.

He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? Matthew 16:2-3

Jesus is saying God could show you a sign but you’re going to translate it to fit your agenda anyway. The fact is God doesn’t have to prove anything to us, he is the creator of all things. The evidence is clearly seen all around us, its up to us change our ways.

A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. Matthew 16:4

Are we a wicked and adulterous generation? We legalize abortion and gay marriage. Our public schools and colleges teach kids God doesn’t even exist. I would say we are an evil generation, and even though we don’t deserve it Jesus died for us anyway. If your looking for a sign its Jesus Christ, he is the only truth , life , and way Amen

Build Upon The Rock

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: Matthew 7:24

What are you building your house on today? What do you put your trust and hopes in? Is your foundation solid today? Would you be able to withstand a storm of life right now?

When you put your trust in God and live by his word, your building your life on The Rock. You have hope, you have purpose, and most importantly you have victory because Jesus has overcome the world.

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. Matthew 7:25

Eventually in everyone’s life there will be storms that come in, trouble that will rock the foundation of your home. The question is how are you preparing for these storms? Are you built on The Rock or The Sand? Will you and your family be able to withstand the storms of life?

And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: Matthew 7:26

But what about those who have no faith or hope? Can you and your family withstand the storms of life with no Messiah?  Where does your hope come from when your still a slave to death and sin?

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. Matthew 7:27

Eventually without God in the middle of your life, it will all fall apart. Build your life on The Rock and be able to withstand the storms of life. Give yourself the peace, hope, and faith of Jesus Christ. We know there will always be storms in life but we have hope because we built on The Rock Amen

Wisdom of Man

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5

Man has tried to rationalize God, to put him in a box so we can perceive it with our human minds. But all the wisdom of man can never explain or fully comprehend the power of our Living God.  For example, creation, the best theory man can come up with is that the universe created itself while we know that God spoke everything into existence through his power and glory.

We need to come to a place where we realize God is the potter and we are the clay, there are things that are beyond our comprehension. But our pride and egos won’t allow this obedience to happen, so man continues to search for answers excluding God

Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 1 Corinthians 2:6-7

God can be a mystery sometimes, for example Jesus Christ, who became the Son of Man to die for our sins, yet was resurrected on the 3rd day to rule forever. Why would God lower himself below the angels? How can the wisdom of man explain this? Our human minds still can’t comprehend this love and power God has displayed unto the world. Do you believe in the power of God or the wisdom of man?

Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1 Corinthians 2:8

And the world rejected God in the flesh and crucified him on a cross. If the wisdom of man understood the power of God, they would have worshipped Jesus instead of killing him. Or could it be the wisdom of man understood who Jesus is and yet rejected anyway due to our pride and unwillingness to change?

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9

The fact is God has told us we have not seen anything yet, the power and glory of God is beyond our comprehension. There will be a day when God wipes away death and sorrow, prepares a heavenly place for us, and we live in peace with our King of Kings Jesus Christ. Question is are you going to trust your eternity on the Wisdom of Man or the Power of God?
