The Greatest Commandment

Owe nothing to anyone–except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law. Romans 13:8

Jesus said the greatest commandments are to love God with all our hearts and love your neighbor as yourself.  Sounds simple but yet the world is full of hatred and violence. Imagine a world if everyone did love each other as themselves?  Remember God is love, so when you look at the world with loving eyes, you look at the world thru Gods eyes, the way it was mean to be.

The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Romans 13:9

All the commandments of the Bible can be fulfilled by following one commandment. Think about it if you truly loved your neighbor would you want to harm them or victimize them? No, the same goes for yourself. You don’t want anyone harming you or your family. If you treat people with the mutual respect that you wish to be treated, everyone can live together peacefully. Love is the cure to all problems.

Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:10

Why is it so difficult for the world to love one another? The answer is so simple yet nobody is willing to do it. The reason is selfishness, all sin is caused by selfishness. People refuse to love one another for reason of greed, envy, lust, and pride. If people learned to be more like Jesus, and think less about themselves and more about other people, then world peace would be possible.

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew  22:37-40

If you can’t love, you can’t follow God, its as simple as that. The first thing we need to do as Christians, is have a “heart transplant”. When you accept Christ, remove all the hatred, bitterness, jealousy, ect from your heart. When you open your heart, then you will truly understand God and his ways.

Some people still are not going to like you, and some people are still going to do you wrong. Pay them no mind, fix your eyes on God and let them have to answer for there actions in Jesus name Amen.

Forgiveness

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Romans 12:14

As Jesus was dying on the cross, he said “Father forgive them, for they do not know what there doing. “ In a world that seeks revenge, we need to forgive and allow God to be the vindicator.

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn Romans 12:15

Jesus said “Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted” When people are mourning we need to be there for them during there time of need.  For those who rejoice, you should rejoice with them for this is the day The Lord has made.

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Romans 12:16

Jesus interacted with sinners, with lepers, and Samaritans. This was all forbidden by Jews back then, he showed us how to live with grace and mercy.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Romans 12:17-18

Jesus said “Blessed are the Peacemakes for they will be called Children of God” One mans sin doesn’t justify another mans sin.  The blind will lead the blind into the ditch.

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. Romans 12:19

Judgement is not ours, let go and let God take control. Usually we make a bigger mess when we try to seek revenge.

On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:20-21

“Kill them with Kindness” is a term we heard before and has some truth to it. When you are kind to your enemies, it’s a response they don’t want.  Never allow someone to bully you into a fight, as it says in Proverbs “A fool is quick to quarrel” be slow to anger and quick to forgive.

Forgiveness is not weakness, it empowers you to release the control your enemy has over you. When you forgive them, you are moving on and letting God take over. Don’t imprison yourself with hatred, break the chains in Jesus Name Amen

Drop Your Stones

Unashamed of Jesus's avatarUnashamed of Jesus

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. John 8:7

The prostitute caught in the act was going to be executed for her sins. To all the men this was justified by the commandments of God. So here comes Jesus, God in the flesh, surely he will lay down his wrath upon this sinner.

But instead Jesus asked us to judge ourselves, who among us is without sin? Who among us is worthy to be the judge of righteousness? None of us, for we all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.

(John 5:22) “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:”

Jesus, the Son of God, is the only one who can judge us. So why do…

Living Sacrifices

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1
As Jesus said your body is the temple of God, because the Spirit of God is living in you. We must try to keep Gods temple Holy, refrain from sin. We must follow the ways of Jesus and not our ways.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2
Are you going to follow Jesus or follow the world? You can’t do both, for the world is ruled by the wicked one. When you become a Christian you become transformed, your old self passes away and you new self is born.
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. Romans 12:3
Humility is key to understanding God, a proud heart will lead to your destruction. Confess your sins and humble yourself before God.
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12: 4-5
The Church is a body made up of many parts. One part is not more important than the other, but together complete the body. The foot is not greater than the hand, and vice versa. But if one part is removed the body struggles and so does The Church.
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Romans 12: 6-8
God has blessed as all with different talents and gifts, its important we use those gifts to serve him. Jesus told the parable of the sower, and when our time comes he will ask us, what did we do with our talents? Did we use them or lazily discard them?
God made you for a purpose and blessed you with talents, seek his will and your reward will be great in Heaven in Jesus name Amen

Nothing Can Separate Us From His Love

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?  Romans 8:35

Is there anything or anyone in your life that separates you from Jesus? When you’re faced with difficult times do you reach out to God or curse him? It’s easy to be a Christian when everything is life is going well, but when the storms of life hit, that’s when the true test is found whether you pull closer to God or move farther away.

As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:36-37

Jesus never said it was going to be an easy life, in fact he said The world will hate you because of him. Satan knows we are peaceful at heart therefor make easy targets for his attacks, however because Jesus conquered death, nobody can defeat you. There is no force in the universe more powerful than God and he lives inside of you.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

Nothing can separate you from God, except yourself.  When Jesus said “It Is Finished” he defeated Satan, he defeated the world, and most importantly he defeated death. Because of his atonement you can’t be separated from God.

However you need to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. He gave his life for you so you can live forever, will you give your life to him? Just say this prayer out loud:

Heavenly Father, I confess my sins, I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, have mercy upon me. Pour your Holy Spirit upon me and make me new again in Jesus Name Amen
