The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God.” John 10:33

Many people who deny the Deity of Christ will say “The Bible never said Jesus is God” or they say “Jesus never claimed to be God” well they must have skipped over this verse or chapter. Here the Religious Leaders are specifically seeking to kill Jesus because he claimed to be God

One of the big issues is people don’t understand what being the Messiah or Son of God means. Meaning call Jesus  “Christ” without thinking about it, but they don’t understand what a huge title like “Christ” (Messiah) means. That is the fulfillment of God becoming Flesh and ruling on Earth. This is exactly what the Jews believed, exactly why they wanted to kill Jesus

“I and the Father are one.” John 10:30

Now if we back up a little, this is what Jesus said to the Jews before they became enraged and ready to kill him. Jesus and God are One, think about that! That’s like me saying I am equal to God. Obviously, you would say I’m a worthless sinner and cant even be in the presence of God

However Jesus was God in the Flesh, Sinless, Holy of Holies. He is able because he is One with the Father. Now our human minds kick in, we try to make logic of this all and determine this cant be! Do you really think we are capable of comprehending the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth?

Bow down before your Lord and God , repent and beg for mercy, for loving kindness endures forever Amen!

    Amen and AMEN brother!

    Just yesterday I was with a woman who is planning a funeral for a loved one her sister-in-law who was a catholic. The woman told me she didn’t agree with Catholicism because they believe that until you have the sprinkling of inscents over the body the “soul” is trapped UGH! She told me she was a Unitarian Universalist!!! They believe in all sorts of things and they also believe there are MANY ways to get to heaven…I said well, I only believe what the Bible says and IF it’s not Biblical then I don’t believe it! My hubby Joseph was also there and he spoke up says right out. JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN then quoting John 14:6 to her! So many people are PERISHING!!!

    Later when we got home we prayed for this woman and our spirits were grieving. Just think how our LORD’s SPIRIT was feeling! 😦

    Exactly! In John 10, why didn’t Jesus stop the Pharisees and correct them, “No no! I didn’t say I was God!” Even if a skeptic wants to say that it was only the Pharisees’ opinion of Jesus and not true doctrine, elsewhere in John we find this exact truth from a different perspective. In John 5:18 we read in the narration, and therefore the opinion of the apostolic author himself (i.e. John) that Jesus “was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.” And now with this information, we can point out, like you said in this post, that titles like Christ or Son of God are also titles of deity, since being the Father’s Only Begotten means being God.

    We must get the deity of Christ right! If we do not honor Jesus (e.g. give Him the title He deserves) then we do not honor the Father as well (John 5:23). Jesus said, “Unless you believe that I AM (name of YHWH in the OT), you will surely die in your sins” (John 8:24). What a strong warning for those in cults that make him an exalted man, or one (lowercase “g”) god among many.

    I think that it was the OPINION of the Jews, accusing Jesus of “making himself a God.” It was not Jesus who,himself, said ” I make myself to be a God.”
    Here’s the KJV Version of
    John 10:29-10:38

    {10:29} My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father’s hand. {10:30} I and [my] Father are one. {10:31} Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. {10:32} Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? {10:33} The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. {10:34} Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? {10:35} If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; {10:36} Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? {10:37} If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. {10:38} But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

      Didn’t Jesus say “I and the Father are One”? (John 10:30) Didn’t Jesus say “Since you have seen me , You have Seen the Father (God) (John 14:9)
      Who can forgive Sin but God alone? Jesus did. Who can control the wind and waves? Jesus did. Who is the First and the Last, the Beginning and The End? (Isaiah 44:6, Revelation 22:13)
      In Genesis didn’t God say Let US make man in OUR image? (Genesis 1:26) Who was the Father talking about? (Father, Son, Holy Spirit)
      Who resurrected Christ from the dead? Didn’t Jesus say he would raise himself? (John 2:19) Did Paul teach the Holy Spirit resurrected Christ? (Roman 6:10)
      Jesus said Nobody is Good but God alone? If Jesus isn’t God how can he atone for your Sin?
