Blasphemy

But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin “—Mark 3:29

Are you a good person? Most people would say Yes, I’m a good person. But have you ever blasphemed God or used the Lords name in vain? If people are being honest , they most likely would answer Yes also.

Working in the public sector in business offices, I can’t tell you how many times on a daily basis I hear people using the Lords name in vein repeatedly. It puzzles me how people find it offensive to say a “curse” word but its ok to use the Lords name in vain repeatedly. This conduct does have serious consequences as Jesus stated.

Think about it, the only one who can forgive and redeem you of your sins, is the one you are cursing. Its common sense if your blaspheming God, there is no reason why you should be forgiven.

So what does “Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit” really mean? The definition of Blasphemy means act or offense of speaking sacrilegiously about God or sacred things, profane talk. The original Greek word is “blasphemia” which means to slander or speak evil of

When Jesus was correcting the Pharisees on Blasphemy they were accusing him of doing works for Satan instead of God. In other words they were Anti-Christs, denying the power and authority of Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

Blasphemy really comes down to that, are you a Christian or an Ant-Christ. Is Jesus your Lord and Savior or do you mock the Word of God? God reads the hearts and minds of everyone (Jeremiah 17:10) He knows whether you are guilty of Blasphemy or not, accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, let him give you a clean heart and renewed mind, in Jesus Name Amen
