Holy Communion

While they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Matthew 26:26

What is Communion? The definition is sharing or exchanging intimate thoughts and feelings especially on a spiritual level. This is exactly what “Communion” is. Jesus broke the bread to symbolize his body that was sacrificed on the cross as a ransom for our sins.

It’s important to remember Jesus laid down his life for us willingly (John 15:13). Gods plan of redemption didn’t just happen by mistake. Jesus was sent here to be our “Lamb of God” (John 1:29) and take away the sins of the world

And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. Matthew 26:27-28

The wine or new wine (grape juice) that we drink is symbolic for the blood of Christ shed for our sins to cover us and make us redeemed. It’s important to remember there is nothing in this world that is more powerful than the blood of Christ. It broke every chain, washed away every sin, and makes even Satan tremble in fear.

“But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.” Matthew 26:29

Jesus is saying after this moment he going to be tortured and crucified for our sins. And after his mission was completed and he defeated sin and death. One day he will return again as King of Kings and restore the Holy Kingdom of God in Jesus Name Amen
