Happy Anniversary

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 1 Corinthians 13:4

June  15th  marks the 10th  wedding anniversary for me and my wife, my best friend, my soulmate, and partner. We got married on the beach in Jamaica and it felt like we were truly standing under God in his paradise. Any nervousness was calmed by the soothing sounds of the ocean waves

Not many other scriptures define love as good as this one, love is sacrifice. Jesus showed us the ultimate display of love by laying down his life and not expecting anything in return. Love putting each other first and not focusing on our own selfish needs. These are great scriptures for all marriages.

It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 1 Corinthians 13:5-6

Words are powerful, they can either bless someone or curse someone, it’s important as a couple your building and supporting each other rather than tearing each other down. Couples need to realize there partner is human and is going to make mistakes, it’s important to forgive one another and not condemn each other.

One of the reasons I love Heidi is she’s very supportive of me and treats me with love and respect.  Remember as a couple you are one, so when you put down your spouse, your putting down yourself.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 1 Corinthians 13:11

As God said in Genesis when man and women get married “Two become One Flesh”, this is important to realize you and your spouse are one now under God.  You are no longer living for yourself, all your decisions not only impact your life but your spouse’s life also.

Me and Heidi are a great team, we make decisions together because ultimately all decisions effect the family. This is part of having a mature and healthy relationship; secrets are cracks in the foundation of marriage.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

To have a successful marriage it must truly be built on love, but to build it on love we must first understand what love truly is. Love is everything describes in these scriptures kindness, patience, and sacrifice.

I’m proud to say our Marriage has been all of this and more.  I couldn’t have asked God for a better partner and soul mate, she is my crown from God.  And I pray everyone may read 1 Corinthians 13 and apply it to your marriages in Jesus Name Amen
