Countdown to Christmas Day 16

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. Luke 2:26

Mary originally hearing the prophecy from Angel Gabriel didn’t understand the message he was telling her. (Luke 1:28:29) “And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.”

However even though she didn’t understand God’s plan she agreed to do the will of the God.

(Luke 1:38)  And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

So God let them to the Holy Temple where they will meet Simeon  who thru the Holy Spirit revealed Jesus is the Messiah (Luke 2:28-32 ) “Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

They were also meet by a prophet Anna; she is actually the only documented female prophet in the New Testament. She also revealed Jesus was the Messiah. (Luke 2:36-38 )” And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

Why did Luke record the account of two witnesses? Well because he was following the Laws of God giving by Moses that required two witnesses to establish testimony (Deuteronomy 19:15) “One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.”

We’re living in an exciting time period where we know the prophecies and fulfilments. We know our Lord Jesus was born and saved us all. Knowing this keep Christ in Christmas in Jesus Name Amen
