Countdown to Christmas Day 4

The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; Deuteronomy 18:15

Moses also prophesied about the coming of Jesus, I like the KJV of this scripture best because it emphasizes the word “brethren” which is very important in this prophecy.

Islam actually tries to claim this scripture to justify Muhammad as a prophet, but as you clearly read the prophet being raised up is from thy brethren which are meaning Jews.

As we know Jesus is from the bloodline of Isaac (Matthew 1:1); Muhammad comes from the bloodline of Ishmael. As Genesis 17:21 tells us “My covenant I will establish with Isaac”. Therefor it clearly shows us Jesus is the true prophet Moses is speaking of.

Also in Deuteronomy 18:18 “I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren (Jews), like unto thee, and will put my (God) words in his (Jesus) mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I (God) shall command him (Jesus).

Notice God continues to emphasize “among their brethren” so people can clearly distinguish between the true and false prophets.  Galatians 4:4 confirms this prophecy “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,”

The term “Under the Law” add the end of the scripture is important because it shows the authority Jesus has to judge people giving by God.

Also (John 8:28) confirms that part of Deuteronomy 18:18 “and he shall speak unto them all the I shall command him”. This is what Jesus said “ When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. Notice Jesus confirms he can’t do anything without the words God has taught him.

So let’s make the commitment to Keep Christ in Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our King and the salvation for our lives. In Jesus name Amen
